Guidelines for establishing a special youth protection program for Native people
Guide
Description
Section 37.5 of the Youth Protection Act (YPA) authorizes the Government to enter into agreement with a First Nation, a Native community or any other Native group, for the establishment of a special youth protection program. This document sets out the guidelines governing the content and implementation of such an agreement, which is intended to ensure better adaptation of the conditions of application of the YPA to Native realities. It is intended as a guide to support the Native communities in their approach for appropriation of youth protection services, and their partners who support them in this approach.
