Tooth decay is a significant public health problem because it has a negative impact on dental health and health in general, and represents a heavy financial burden on the public. Fluoridation of drinking water is recognized as one of the most efficient, safe, economical and fair means for reducing cavities. This document is intended to address the main concerns and questions regarding fluoridation raised by the public. The answers are based on solid medical and scientific facts.
