Quebec's Strategy for Preventing Suicide - Help for Life

Description
The suicide rate in Québec is one of the highest in the industrialized world. Given the extent of the problem and following consultations, the ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux developed and published a strategy for action that:
- presents the epidemiological data, the associated factors and various observations concerning the services offered to prevent suicide;
- proposes objectives to be pursued and action to be taken by the different parties working with suicidal people and their friends and relatives;
- defines the responsibilities to be shared Québec-wide, regionally and locally.
The ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux believes that the implementation of Québec’s Strategy for Preventing Suicide should stabilize and eventually reduce the suicide rate in Québec.
